About Our Foundation
LifeStream’s compassionate behavioral health and social services have reached the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in Central Florida since 1969. Through the spirit of community giving, community members have touched hundreds of thousands of lives across Lake, Sumter and Citrus Counties by donating their time and supporting funds.
Our Foundation Board members and volunteers come from across our community to support LifeStream’s mission to provide the best possible care in mental wellness, substance abuse and social services for children, seniors and families. With your support, we can give people the tools to recover and achieve independence in their lives.

Volunteer With LifeStream
LifeStream’s volunteer program attracts concerned community members groups in our community who are interested in donating their time to help Bring Hope to Life.
We have many volunteer opportunities available, from social services, residential aide, and clerical work, to service in our activities, maintenance, lawn services and dietary departments, to serving on our Board of Directors and/or on our Foundation Board. Volunteers interested in serving on the Board of Directors and/or Foundation Board are recommended through the nominating committee of each Board.
LifeStream also works with High School students who are in need of community service hours for academic scholarships.
All volunteers are required to attend a basic orientation to familiarize themselves with the services offered by LifeStream. On the job training is also provided to the volunteer in the chosen area of assistance.
